One call. One desperate voice. Nothing is quite what it seems.

Russell Tovey stars in The Guilty, a gripping, real-time psychological thriller inspired by the acclaimed Danish film "Den Skyldige (2018), later remade in Hollywood with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Police officer Joe is working a shift at an emergency call centre when he receives a distressing call from a woman who appears to have been kidnapped. With only her voice and the sounds coming through the telephone to guide him, Joe races against time to uncover what has happened and find a way to save her.

But something doesn't add up.

As the calls continue and new details emerge, Joe begins to question everything he thought he knew. With no way to see what is happening beyond the telephone line, every word matters, every assumption carries a risk and the truth becomes increasingly difficult to untangle.

Following a sold-out run at the Donmar Warehouse, this intense one-man production transfers to the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End. Directed by Felix Barrett, founder of the internationally acclaimed theatre company Punchdrunk, The Guilty transforms a simple telephone conversation into an extraordinary live theatrical experience.

With Russell Tovey at the centre of the action, the audience is drawn into a world of uncertainty, mounting tension and impossible choices – where what you hear may be just as important as what you cannot see.

One actor. One phone call. 65 minutes of relentless suspense.

Some truths are impossible to escape.
